  • Thank god everyone doesn't think I'm weird for liking T.V.Themes. The thing is, this version as per the T.V. Series is better than the commercially released version with that irritating wah electric guitar. Acoustic sounds much better. Thanks for posting!

  • Absolutely one of the greatest theme tunes EVER! I had to really play that one loud there. This and the theme from UFO are my all time faves.

this is an excellent tune, and yeah the acoustic guitar freaking rocks. The bassline is stunning too.

  • Sad to see Gareth Hunt died. Loved this as a kid. I wanted to be Purdy.

  • @SoEightiesItHurts I agree! I'm also really the Space 1999 themes too!

  • Joanna Lumley looks hot in this series.

  • My only problem with The New Avengers? THE THEME WAS LAME BY COMPARISON EVEN IF GOOD!

  • Drum and Bass...

  • quite like this theme, however I think the original is still the best.

  • "It's no use Vic, they've got fluoride!"

  • Notable that the theme's composer was billed just after the stars and before the producer. Laurie J. must have had some clout I presume. I hear the influence of Edwin Astley in the military drum style, but then, the US series also liked that arresting marching motif. Aside from that, evidently the tiny security post could not have held both soldiers in a downpour - unless they'd enjoyed a v-e-r-y close relationship.
