Kristen's POV
*So, I finished my song, turned to the audience to promise I'd be back later in the show, and headed off stage. Kevin and the guys were all standing there, of course. I tried to just walk past without a word again, but Kevin grabbed my arm and stopped me.*
"What? "
*He looked scared and taken aback by my reaction.* "What's wrong? Was that song supposed to be for me? What did I lie about? Why didn't you show after you texted me? What's going on?? "
*I tried to hold back the combination of acid and tears as I spoke through clenched teeth* "Oh, I did show. And you wanna know what you lied about? Danielle. I showed up to tell you that I forgave you, that I loved you, and that I wanted you back, and I walked in on you KISSING her Then you try to come to my room and say sweet things to me like nothing happened? *He just froze, an expression of shock, and what looked like realization on his face. I yanked my arm from his grasp.* Yeah. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready for the rest of the show. *I saw Joe and Nick both looking confused.* I turned to Joe, and sadly and quietly said, "I'm sorry, Joe. I guess I did make the wrong decision."
"Kristen, wait "
*I turned to face Kevin, and now all the acid was gone, just pain left.* "I'm done waiting, Kevin. I waited for you to admit you had feelings in the beginning, then I waited for you to see I'm better for you than Danielle, I waited for you to choose me over her, waited for you to feel like I was enough to make you happy, and now anymore waiting is just going to amount to more heartache for me. I had a world of chances for you, I really did. But you've burnt through them like wildfire. And now it's time for me to guard my heart." *With that, I turned and walked away.*
Joe's POV
*Kristen turned and walked away, and Kevin looked after her, tears building, then he looked at me and got angry.* "What did she mean she made the wrong decision? Did you tell her not to forgive me? "
"Hey, you know we were talking about how you hurt her. And she said she wanted you back, but yet again you hurt her and broke her trust for stupid Danielle. Don't try to blame me This is all you, bro."
"But, I didn't do what she thinks I did "
"She saw you KISSING her That's kinda cut and dry."
"No, as soon as I left Kristen's earlier, I told Danielle we were done and she needed to leave, just like I said I would. I was waiting for Kristen and Danielle showed up out of nowhere, and then attacked me, and I shoved her off of me. I understand now what happened next. She looked over my shoulder with a weird grin then left. I turned and looked but saw nothing. Kristen must have run off before she saw me push her away. And Danielle attacked me, just so Kristen would see and not forgive me. You gotta believe me "
"Normally, that would be a really lame excuse, but, unfortunately, I can see Danielle doing that."
"Will you help me, Bro. Will you tell Kristen it's all a crazy misunderstanding. I don't think she'll listen to me."
"I don't think I can, Kevin... I'm sorry, but I don't want to get in the middle of this." *What else could I say. I couldn't very well tell him I didn't want to help them work it out cuz I wanted to be with her. But I also couldn't ignore that I'd rather be with her than help him get back together with her. What a mess *
