Last I checked(unless California driving laws are different), when turning, you have to stay in the correct lane, and you don't have a choice of lanes(left turns stay in left lane, right turns keep you in the right lane). Once in the lane, you should THEN properly signal, and change to the lane you want.

I really wish more DMVs would look for this sort of thing in the driving test. A lot of drivers, at least those in New York and Illinois, have no idea what the laws are.

these ids are actually great! i have my drive test tomorrow and i am moderately nervous but i know i can always try again in two weeks:)
