Polar bears love ice - they need sea ice to survive

It provides a platform from which they can hunt - without it they go hungry

As the Arctic warms due to climate change, sea ice declines

When there isnt any, polar bears fast on stored-up fat, eagerly waiting for the ice to form again

This Fall in Canadas Hudson Bay the ice was over 3 weeks late in returning. Every week longer the bears wait they end up about 10 kg lighter.

If the ice disappears for good, so do the polar bears.
