  • i have a great idea! lets all live below sea level and build walls that can keep water out!

*sarcasm* its kinda at your own risk to live below sea level, no matter what the government does. Your living below sea level. thats all ive got to say ='(.

  • Uh, erosion? The wetlands have indeed been greatly reduced, eliminating much of the natural barrier they once provided, but it's been human activity that's done the damage. People want their waterfront development. These idiots just think about the short term cash they're going to make and not about the real consequences of their actions.

  • politicians->they are the problem.we have the knowledge & tools & technology to prevent my city from any future floods.they could build a major dam & they can make more canals running off the mississippi river.the point is politicans choose not fund these permanent proceedures b/c they r greedy bastards & as long as they fund anything permanent they will never have a future excuse 2 milk the system 4 damages.u cant keep us from our city, u have obviously never lived here.we aint goin no where;*

  • The wetlands protecting the levees have been greatly reduced by erosion since they were built 40 years ago. Nagin should have been reinforcing the levees instead of transferring money from the New Orleans Levee Board to help pay for the Marty Gras.

  • Maybe if you make them you will need about 5 or more cm, that would be a lot of money if you think overall

  • what we have learned:next time make him 30 Cm higher

  • That's scary: and now there's Ike to worry about.

  • Good Grief! When are they going to make levees higher than this. No wonder the water goes in, it's too low and not solid enough.
