Did anyone get the significance of the accompanying music?
"Sentimental Journey" by the Anthracite region's own "Les Brown and The Band of Renown" Les was from Tower City, Schuylkill County.

Don't forget slide rock curve! Most of the curves had names, Steam shovel, Mama Heater"s, Point of Gap, etc
That's why the new Phoebe Snow service must be a Talgo Tilt Train like the one running in Washington State. It would cut the travel time in half, by taking those curves at twice the speed of a regular train!

When I was young we use to take this train from Buffalo to Scranton and back every year. Thanks for the memories

I used to ride this train from Hoboken to Scranton to visit my grandparents. It was the absolute highlight of my summer. I can almost remember the scenery. I definitely remember the Delaware water gap. Don't know what you got till it's gone.

@eldiner as is Diner 469, but 469 will be restored as DL&W 469, while 470 will be restored as EL #770

I can't really tell from the movie, so can anyone tell me what the DL&W Phoebe Snow consisted of? Also, what cars still exist from her? I know both Tavern Lounge cars are on Metro North, both dining cars are owned by the ELDCPS, and the coaches were divided up among MTA, but are any of them still around? (I'm still hoping for the rebirth of the Phoebe Snow if the Cut-off is ever restored)

@Conrail6370 i would guess the line from andover to slateford, as well as restoration on the Delaware River Viaduct

It would be awesome if you could put that footage on dvd............

This brings back memories from my childhood. I recognized The train crossing into PA over the "Cutoff" to Slateford Junction, going around the "Point of the Mountain" in Water Gap,past the DRJTB bridge where Rt I-80 crosses into NJ. I recognize East Stroudsburg station.(Later-Dansbury Depot) into Cresco. I live in Portland and railroads were a big part of my ancestors livelihood. Both grandfathers worked on the railroads one on the DL&W and the other on the Pennsylvania.

I have pictures of the conductors, on the Phoebe Snow, waving back to me, when I was a kid in Morristown, NJ. That was way back in the early 50s.
