glad to join... don't have a wii myself so it's nice to see reviews of games like this (trailers of games just don't cut it)

Hey, thanks for the info on how that stuff works! Sorry that you had to answer your own question, though. :P
Also, thanks for viewing this video and subscribing to this channel! There are many more videos planned for the near future, so expect to see some more content really soon.

to clarify what i just wrote, in peer to peer you would not have to meet everyone online personally, your "tree" of friends you meet online would just have to be connected to everyone else's "tree" of friends, which would happen eventually and continually.
-
peer to peer would have everyone's scores saved on everyone's system, and it would spread out viral-like, eventually, to everyone's system as they each meet each other online. it must be server-based. i just thought i would ask because you mentioned the download time being long. nintendo (i'm not up to speed with the wii and how it works) must have server based online rankings just like the xbox does...
thanks!!
You neglected to mention that this came out on STEAM for PC.

I believe that the version you are talking about is Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, which is an earlier, single-level game in the series. The Wii version, Galaxies, is its own, much more fleshed out game which also contains Retro Evolved.

how does the online scores work again? is it p2p or server based?

Honestly, I'm not sure. From the limited information I know on the subject, I would say that it's probably server-based, though I could definitely be wrong.
Sorry that I can't really help you with that. If it relates to why you asked the question, I have never had to wait longer than 20 seconds to connect online and download the online scores (when my connection is slow); on average, it's probably around 10 seconds altogether.
