Took me all of the past two days to get this, but finally, I managed to pull it off. I've made it so certain events can alter the music. In this particular example, I've used Jimmy52905's "Jolly Roger Bay" port in a similar fashion to how SM64 did it. Jumping in the water turns on the percussion, jumping out turns it off. I'd like to implement a fade-in/fade-out, but that'll come later.

Also, I threw in the three Yoshi Coin thing just to show that you can use this gimmick for pretty much anything. The SPC700 is awesome.

  • hai i waz wondarin hao u do dat

But in all seriousness, isn't this how Nintendo did the Yoshi drums?

  • @TheGag96 Sort of similar, I guess. I used a muting method, whereas I think the drums literally use an enable/disable method.

  • @SNN135 Also, should I learn SPC700?

  • @TheGag96 Er .. learn it if you feel like you want to. I wanted to, so I did. If you share the same interest as I did, go for it.

  • Isn't it supposed to be the opposite?

No drums in the water, but drums outside?

  • @Kevinskie555 Maybe, but I don't think it's really relevant, seeing as how flipping the status would take about 5 seconds.

  • Is it also possible having a completely other song playing in water then in land?

  • Definitely would work with Yoshi as well.

  • But... In SMG..

  • @Kevinskie555

It's not. In Dire Dire Docks when you're swimming into the Main Area the Drums kick in. It's really confusing.

  • Snn...

You are god... But you knew that already

  • @SNN135 What it's supposed to be is just the main tune in the starting area, added second ambiance in the water, and percussion in the underwater cave.
