Nick's POV:

"Come on!" I cried, pulling her to the car.

"Nick, what are you doing?" she laughed, stumbling through the rain behind me.

I dragged her under an overhand in the parking lot and told her to wait.

"I'm already soaked, silly," she protested.

"Just stay right there," I insisted. The determined tone of my voice made her stop and shut up.

"Good," I smiled, then sprinted off into the mostly empty parking lot, an incredible idea forming in my head.

Just moments later, I'd reparked the car and turned on the headlights so that they were shining like a spotlight on a blank wall. I was out of the car in a flash, pulling Em back out into the rain.

"You don't mind getting a little wet, do you?" I teased.

I reached for her hand and planted my date between the car and the wall.

"You're not going to hit me, are you?" she called out, chuckling a little nervously as I moved back to the car and stuck my head inside.

Then, the music was flowing out of the car. Leaving my dinner jacket in the backseat, I rolled the windows down just a bit, shut the door and walked back to Emily. I held my hand out to her and smiled.

"May I have this dance?" * * * *

Emily's POV:

Oh my gosh. I could feel the warmth flood through my entire body despite the cold rain. His crooked grin made the butterflies in my tummy as I nodded.

"You may."

I took his warm hand and he pulled me close, locking his suddenly shy eyes on mine. He looped an arm around my waist , and we danced to an old song called the "Way You Look Tonight." I couldn't imagine this night getting any better. When the song was over, I dropped my eyes and stepped back, blushing.

Then, the iPod inside the car switched the song to "Can I Have This Dance?" I giggled and Nick rolled eyes.

"Can I just say that this is Joe's iPod?" he said, and I could tell he was slightly embarrassed.

I nodded my head, giving him a look that said, 'sure, blame your brother.' He flashed me one of his heart-stopping dimpled grins and walked over to the car to hit next, causing the iPod to change to "I'll Be," the song my mom used to sing me to sleep to. My jaw dropped.

"This is my favorite song in the whole world," I whispered, ignoring the steady rainfall as Nick strode back to me.

Without even asking this time, he gathered me up into his arms, and we moved to the music. I let my head rest on his muscled chest, where, surprisingly, I felt completely at home. 'This can't be a good idea,' I thought, then quickly pushed the thought out of my mind, wanting nothing but to enjoy this moment with him.

"Emily?" he said softly.

"Hmm?" I replied, liking the sound of his deep voice in his chest.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

"Well, its more of a statement than a question," he told me.

I pulled back just enough so that I could tip my head back and see his face. "What are you thinking about?"

"I don't think I ever want to leave."
