Chicago Marathon 2007: Through My Eyes

Finally, it's time for a race to be done for me (since I'm always doing them for others!). With my camera in hand, I filmed what ended up being quite an eventful marathon as the heat and humidity rose to unbelievable levels, the race official made the executive decision to cancel the race about the time I hit mile 20. Makes for a great story though!

This was my first ever marathon. I travelled from London for it and was totally unprepared for the heat that hit me as I stepped off the plane. I finished in 4 hours 32 minutes, but was happy to still be alive! The heat was just unbearable and I still can't believe I made it.
I've now run 6 marathons and whenever it gets warm in England, I always think that it can never get as hot as it was that day in Chicago!

This was a great video! The weather was brutally difficult to even try and adjust to. The wonderful city and GREAT camaraderie definitely helped and makes me want to run it next year!!

I videoed my 2006 experience which I'll video post. I cannot believe the difference in weather between the two. 2006 was like 45 and 2007 was 95, unreal.
Hopefully next year will be smoother and we can see a sequel
