Abortions should be allowed. Outside of the context of rape, people still have accidents. Lots of people are misinformed about contraception especially in a country that promotes "abstinence" as a solution. If you have a baby and you can't take care of it (ie. you live in poverty, you're not a point in your life where you can care for your child, you have poor health), why put this child though the misery?

@kateshubby84 exactly how is she ignorant? She didnt say that it was okay to abort regaurdless of the situatuion! she said rape! The percentages you mentioned are correct, but to curse at her and call her ignorant because you are obviously 100% against them, makes you ignorant. Another thing is if you have a child and can't take care of him/her then usually the child goes to an adoption center.They live most of thier life there unless they are lucky and find a family.If you really think about it a lot of children grow up not knowing thier parents.I also feel there are too many humans on this planet, we are over populating.We have no natural preditors, we live long, and if you calculate it(not sure how accurate this is) humans can have 50 or more kids in thier lifetime.

@vampyres32 The right to life is above all other rights in both Canda and the USA. Even if someone is trespassing on your property, and using your things (metaphor), you do NOT have the right to end their life, unless it's in self defence.

@eminem4436 If the mother dies so does the fetus, you don't save two lives you kill two, its basic triage. And no even police have been shot for entering homes unexpected, anyways you can not force another person to use their organs to save a life, you can't even do it to dead people.Violence or not, fetus doesn't trump the basic right to autonomy over ones person. expecting otherwise is same justification for slavery and rape.

@vampyres32 First, I will give you credit for presenting an argument I've never heard before, BUT, in North America, unless someone is being violent (a child the the womb is not being violent), you dont have the right to kill them.

And dont bring up the idea that a woman could die from giving birth, because in that situation, you are losing a life either way, so abortion is much more understandable.

@Sabbypotter7 I am getting an abortion, and I don't feel pity, I don't feel remorse, I feel nothing more then relief that that option is available to me, see I have kids, I have given birth to children, the act nearly killed me, I can't leave my kids orphans, thus I am aborting. BTW before you say I should have used protection, Its been 10 years 5 months since I got pregnant last, I have been using the same method faithfully, I am allowed to have sex :P

@eminem4436 Even if its a human where does a human gain rights to use another humans body against there will, sex isn't a contract to become pregnant anymore then driving is a contract to die in a car accident.
