@Burnupmaster45 - There is no evidence that gun ownership reduces crime as there is a multitude of things to take into consideration when considering why violent crime occurs. However it is very simple to see that countries with guns have far higher murder rates than those without. Even those with far higher crime rate like the UK have far lower murder rates than low crime countries like Switzerland. Why? Guns!

@WillShakespeare2007 One thing, Gun ownership is bound to increase gun deaths 50% of which are suicides (you dont need a gun to kill yourself). but large scale firearms ownership like in the US reduces overall crime, look at the stats....
