-
@wildmorphlaw until the end of the world has though
-
HOLY FUCK YOU HAVE AN EDGE GUITAR!!!!!!!!
:DDDDD
-
@wildmorphlaw He does use those 2 string octaves in more songs, but as you say not very many. Until The End Of The World (in the verses), Magnificent (end of the main riff), New Years Day (the end of the solo). Your video's are great man, thanks and Rock on.

@wildmorphlaw Listen to the guitar part on the second or third verse. That's definitely some octave playing. What do you think?

REALLY THANK YOU FOR THIS

Well I wouldn't call it "unusual" because he does use octaves for a few other songs. I can only name 3: New Years Day, Magnificent and Until the End of the World.

@EaglesStir - I made this video a year before Magnificent was released. So, I feel pretty comfortable calling 2-string octaves weird for the Edge, considering that prior to this tune, he had done them on 2 other songs out of the 200+ U2 songs that have been released. Certainly, 1% would not make 2-string octaves "usual" for the Edge.

thanks. but octave playing is not unusual for the edge.

@Martenot it has been six months. I am still waiting for you to tell me which songs, use the octave playing. So, anytime you are ready to back up your mouth, I am ready to hear about it.

@wildmorphlaw I'm sorry, I thought I replied to this. Probably something went wrong with YouTube and posting my reply. Well, I'm not sure what sort of octave playing we've been talking, don't remember. But first thing that comes to mind is Edge's use of Digitech's Whammy which does that. You have:
"Even Better Than The Real Thing"
"Hold Me, Thrill Me..."
"Gone"
"Beautiful Day" (middle section)
"When I Look At The World"
Tell me what you think. Take care.

@Martenot - None of the songs you mention have two string octave playing in them. As you note, you are referring to the whammy pedal sound, which quite common for the Edge, but is not used anywhere in Stuck In a Moment and is something totally different from what I am talking about in the video. What I am talking about is two string octave chords, which is definitely something outside of Edge's usual bag of tricks.
