Volvo 960 / S90 / Executive / Royal

Like the Volvo 960? Here's a decked out version celebrating the final years of the RWD production from Volvo.

Vehicle is either a standard 5-seater with long wheelbase, or a 4 seater provided by two independent power adjustable rear seats. Optional rear console air conditioning and drink coolers; excellent interior lighting, and it's powered by the smooth Volvo-Porsche inline-6 :) Guarentee to inspire all Volvo owners alike!

Correction: only 30 of these cars have the longer wheelbase.

@Ankkatulppu It lowers the antenna (overrides the automatic control by the head unit) so you can use your radio through the car wash. Mines was lowered most of the time because I mostly played MP3s and USB drives...

@motorpojken Should be mad at Toyota for displacing the market and cutting costs at the same time. Of all things you shouldn't fail at the gas pedals.... as for Ford and Geely, without their help Volvo would really be defunct by now..

Mine is a '97 960 executive... 160k miles and still going strong,it's pretty bulletproof for the last 70k miles of ownership. It's the real Volvo quality.

@hadabenz agree......... but somehow I'm loving the new XC60 interiors....and even with the S40 and C30, you get a better car than what could be made 10 years ago..

Something I dislike about the automatic transmission is the fact that it doesn´t have 2nd gear, as other Volvo models, which is quite important when you drive uphill and downhill (montanious roads). Bisides that, the S90 its a beatiful car. Becareful with the cooling system, which is prone to fail.

I owned a volvo 740 gle 16 valve 1989, and a volvo S70 GLT SE 2000 presently. Both great cars. However the interior in the car in this video would appear to be as nice as some cars over 100k. Just take a look at rear seats with lighting, as well as the front dash. WHY DOES VOLVO DISCONTINUE A GOOD THING?

I have a 1998 S90 U.S. spec. car. Just turned 100K and running strong, and although 12 years of age now is still a head turner and have lost count of how many times people have ask me is it a new model that replaced the S80. I have had many Volvos from a 240DL to a 850 Estate which I still have. Never a let down and remain enjoyable to this day. Have looked at the newer ones, such as the 2011 S60, which I really like, but somehow the magic of the S90 is still there for me. Looking for a Royal.
