Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins wrote this, and Cash had it on his '65 album "Ballads Of The True West". It's about the happenings in Tombstone, AZ, on October 26th, 1881 (at 2:30 PM). Back then the newspaper (the "Tombstone Epitaph") screamed out the headline "Murder in the Streets of Tombstone!". Frank and Tom McLowrey and Billie Clanton were shot by general Wyatt, Morgan and Virgil Earp and Doc Holliday, at the O.K. Corral. A witness at the trial said that he'd heard the 28-year old Billie scream: "Don't shoot me! I don't wanna fight."
Who is to blame for the gunfight, after all is not clear. This song, nevertheless, looks at what the historic location of Tombstone looked like when Cash and Perkins wrote the song.
The "True West" album is a impressing retrospective on America's history!

  • nice cover but too fast

  • Thanks! Sorry to hear that, but I hope you liked it anyway!!

  • another great song ******

  • Thank you :-)

  • not a bad voice at all but to use a kara machine not thts hmm questionable. Your voice to the song was awsome. Try to do the guitar not the machine. I mean no offense just saying whats on my mind.

  • What do you mean by "Kara Machine"??

If you mean the electric guitar playing in the background, that's me playing! I recorded the guitar after I recorded the video, to make it complete.

If you wanna see me play the guitar, I recommend my take on "Jeri's And Nina's Melody", which you'll find on my channel.

Please write back so that I know if I got something wrong!

Thanks for the compliment on the singing!!

  • At first I was like, "who the hell is this kid, trying to cover Johnny Cash" but I was surprised at how good it was!!! Keep it up, and don't let negative people like me bring you down!!

  • Thanks Gav! No need to excuse yourself, life always comes first!! But - nevertheless- Youtube is a better place with you!

Glad you like the song. If you got any (Johnny Cash??) request, let me know!!
