The Cooling Tower at the Bellacorick Peat Power Station which was a land mark in North Mayo, Ireland for nearly 50 years was demolished at 11 o'clock on October 14, 2007

  • It just aint the same to past bellacorrick and not see it!

  • thats col u have hyrdo power near where u live, but thats down to geography rather than choice of the residents, funilly the peat station at bellacorrick has been surrounded by wind turbines for over a decade, and there was talk of converting the old power station to gas is there is a major gas find being developed near by at the moment (its been held up for years by local protestors)
