During August more than 400,000 people viewed our forest love video and hundreds of people uploaded photos of how passionate they are about forest protection.

Here are the best submissions in a love letter to European Commission President Barroso who is currently delaying a vital vote on outlawing illegal timber imports to Europe.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a photo for this project to the flickr group.

  • Great video, it was a honor for me to sign that petition because i know how much we need our forests as i live in a region filled with them. Thank you for inspiring me everyday Greenpeace, to take action and to love my planet even more to act in her name each day. Have all a Blessed day and may your efforts not only win battles, but the war! Thank you!

  • Go forests, our planet cannot live without them! I really do hope they reinforce the laws for strong wood and timber! ^^

  • Perhaps your next card could ask Barroso the un-elected " president " why he wants to allow gene-manipulated crops to be grown in the EU ?

  • Well done... perhaps you will respond in kind to my channel and our video... singerLakshim "I know what love is"! Blessings... ENTICIA

  • Its high time if we are searching substitute for diesel as biodiesel. We should search alternatives to timber and respect and honour our natural purifiers. They came before us on this planet. Respect flora so that fauna can survive.

  • From the death throes of the past, shine forth the brilliant rays of the future, as those who cling to outdated doctrine and cultural obscurity are trapped beneath the burden of their own ignorance and neglect of righteous change.

  • Walking in the local forests here in Sweden makes my soul to rest from the daily stress in our society, the fresh air, no noise from cars...Beautiful! God bless Greenpeace and your acts that are neccesary to protect our enviorment and the animals that inhabit it, we need you more than ever in this cold non-understanding world.

You're doing a great job, hopefully people will open their eyes and see what is happening to our world and start doing something about it!
