Amate i vostri nemici...- Love your enemies... .avi

E' meglio subire l'ingiustizia e l'umiliazione, che reagire con altro male. Per interrompere il ciclo diabolico offesa-violenza è necessario il perdono. Se ti vogliono portar via la tunica, per evitare ogni contesa, cedi anche il mantello (v.40). "Se qualcuno ti costringe a fare un miglio, tu fanne due", mantieni il cuore libero dai risentimenti e reagisci solo con amore. "Dà a chi ti domanda e non volgere le spalle a chi ti chiede" (v. 42): non fingere di non capire, non inventare difficoltà... Se puoi fare qualcosa, fallo e basta. In merito ad "Ama il tuo prossimo, ma odia il tuo nemico" (vv. 43-48) il duplice comandamento di Gesù suona paradossale: "Amate i vostri nemici e pregate per i vostri persecutori". È l'apice dell'etica cristiana, è la richiesta dell'amore gratuito che raggiunge anche chi fa il male.
Suffering injustice and humiliation is better than reacting with other evil. Forgiveness is necessary to break the evil cycle of offense-violence. If someone wants your tunic, to avoid any dispute, give them your cloak as well (V.40). "If someone forces you to walk a mile, walk two," Keep your heart free from resentment and react only with love. "Give to him who asks you, and do not turn away those who asks you" (v. 42): Do not pretend not to understand, do not invent problems ... If you can do something, just do it. With regard to "love your neighbor but hate your enemy" (vv. 43-48), Jesus' double commandment sounds paradoxical: "Love your enemies and pray for your persecutors." It is the culmination of Christian ethics, it is the request of gratuitous love that reaches even those who do evil
