With the Halloween season upon us, several of the animals, including lions, tigers, polar bears, brown bears, and the gorillas, were given pumpkins to enjoy as part of the zoowide behavioral enrichment program.

  • How fun! Whats the specific reason that the tiger's tail is cut off? Does it keep it from getting teased or from jumping farther? Or did the cat just get an infection or growth? Just wondering

  • Pumpkins seem to be a favorite treat for many living creatures!

    A lot of people who saw the Philadelphia Zoo tigers "carving" their pumpkins were surprised to learn that cats like pumpkin and that it is good for their digestive tracts.
