possibly. regardless, if the laws says he is black, then BY LAW he is black - but that doesnt change the fact he is half white. if your race is mixed, like his is, then your niether white nor black. your mixed race. if the law doesn't recognise that then its a dumb law.

I totally understand what you are trying to say. When Michelle said this I felt really bad for Obama... instead of making things smoother, by her comment, there was no peace coming out of this one comment. She could of defended her husband from this comment by maybe answering that he is not 100 percent black and period. But she kept talking. And to this thundakat29, instead of criticizing, do what's right, didn't your mom ever teach you that... "If you can't say something nice... hush it!

I don't think it was a great thing for her to bring up the race issue but regardless of what we want to believe as a culture, race IS still an issue. I grew up in the South and I know for a fact that as much as we'd like to pretend its all behind this country its not and its going to take a while for that to happen. She didn't help it by saying it, but who doesn't make mistakes like that. I'm sure she regretted it as soon as she said it.
Also, who cares what the law says--he's a HUMAN BEING.
