  • Instead of vinegar I use a whole lemon. that should have the same effect no?

  • @chyrd Sure. Absolutely the same effect.

  • what makes you a doctor?

  • I have a Ph.D., in Clinical Nutrition with a specialization in Integrative Medicine.

  • how long will the carcas keep for when you put everything in the water, should you simmer it the next day?

  • Let the bones simmer for 6-10 hours, then strain all of the bones out for a nice broth.

  • Hey Liz, I thought I might tell you a lil' secret that I use when making my own soup. I put everything in the pot and let it cook down and concentrate the broth to at least half of what the liquid was when I first start.

But one of the secret ingredients that i do use is allspice berries, about 5 of them. I also add a nice sized pc of ginger. I also use a rutabaga that I have peeled and chopped up into cubes. Do the same as you normally would and enjoy!

  • Excellent video. I am not a great cook., but I have cooked chicken soup before and it came out well. I wanted to get more ideas. See, I didn't know about the vinegar. My baby has a stomach virus, and I know soup would be great for her. Your voice is very soothing. I felt good just listening to you lol.

  • I always wondered how much calorie is in a cup of gelatinous soup with the fat scrapped off... Is there any at all? I do 2 cups of this soup everyday @ 1.30pm... Interestingly, I never got tired of it..

  • This video was well done...thanks for sharing!
