Another story from my college time at Colorado State. In our year ending "Best of Sportsfest" show, we take a look back at the 2005 Colorado State football season. In montage format, clips from previous Sportsfest shows, as well as game highlights and interviews recap the Rams 6-6 season. Myself and Nik Vukovich were anchors at that time.
In 2005, CSU started off on a down note during training camp when safety and senior captain Ben Stratton went down for the season with a torn ACL. The Rams would lose yet another heartbreaker in the Rocky Mountain Showdown at arch-rival Colorado and start 0-2. However, thanks to the emergence of sophomore running back Kyle Bell, the Rams rebounded for three straight wins, including a dramatic goal line stand on homecoming against defending Mountain West Conference Champion Utah. CSU had a chance to win the MWC title with a win at TCU, but was turned away 33-6. The Rams did salvage a bowl berth with a win over UNLV, but were drubbed by Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl to finish 6-6.
