Where can I find more of this pitch-changing, inverting, amazing music?!
-
@Auralnoirr I believe that the term is 'inverting'. I'm pretty sure that causes phasing similar to whats heard
-
@baboon2525 That bit sent shivers down my spine but it is good it only happens once, 'cause it means I have to listen to the song more than once to hear it again, which to be far is hardly a punishment ;D

So F'n Good!

You and thegmanyo are talking about the same thing. The left and right channels are 180 degrees out of phase which causes the frequency cancellation you mention.
-
@thegmanyo He didn't reverse the waveform. He used a technique (forgot the name) where you combine the left and right channels, which cancels out certain frequencies, then hard-panned them to the left and right channel, creating this "surround" or "spread" effect. Or maybe he messed around with a stereo spreader plugin?
Either way, this guys a freakin genius and i cant wait for Ghettoville!
-
@baboon2525 Yeah, but it makes the moment so much better when it only happens once.

that bit at 0:44 is damn great - he should have made more of it through the whole song....
-
Great fucking song. Kind of wondering how he did the part at 0:44. I think he just reversed the waveform of almost the whole song, because it seems to be quieter when I position the speakers different ways.
Also, we only need one comment about Thom. Stop posting your own and just give the top one thumbs up. If you want to find this stuff without Thom, I would actually suggest using the "listeners also bought" feature on iTunes. It's surprisingly helpful.
