  • how do you find the power supply?

  • @deanvella69 Hi

Powercool 750w 80+ working well even with monster like 9800gx2. Length and Width exact like stock Dell psu and height 1cm short then dell, also all mounting screw fit perfect. Main power connector was mod and move to the right due to radiator.

  • I have an XPS420 with Q6600 that I upgraded to Silencer 750, 4Gb RAM and 4TB storage. How did you attach the waterblock to the CPU? I'm trying to install a Corsair H50 and as you know, the DELL mounts are completely different from standard. It looks like you were able to find or make some stainless brackets to attach to the stock holes in the stock BTX Mobo... what's on the underside? Thanx in advance!

  • Hi

Dell use full BTX standard mobo in xps420, but heatsink and case is dell own design. I used thermaltake water block with BTX mounting bracket (I can't find add water block with BTX application) Mobo side fit perfect, but because dell heatsink have different mounting system then BTX standard, on the fan side need to be drill two hole for distance pin. All complete set with distance pin screw etc is listed on eBay what you need just drill two holes.

    thx rob

  • Hold on, How come u got heat spreader on sticks over BTX mobo??? 5-5-5-15 i guess? !!XPS 420!! owners wants style nd u ve done a good job here...this build is really Kickass!! But whts the point? u ve to keep the case open...so no point of showing off ur bluetooth device.. nd dont ask about miniview LCD.....

wht i mean is u cud go to custom case... in my case i got XCELERATOR also so m gonna stick with case!anyway GX2 really looks like 2 cards!!!

  • eww dell

  • @lindaspl78 Will a corsair or antec 750w psu fit this case? I hear some say you can fry the Dell mother-board with too much power? And Dell only recommended 475w max upgrade in the xps 420 ?

  • I just tried installing my bigwater 735 in my XPS 420 along with a 750w PSU and a GTX470 card - everything went fine except the water pump was dead on arrival! AH! Question for you - where do you plug the mini power connectors that are supposed to go on the mobo for like the LEDs and fans? The xsp420 mobo only has 2 fan plugs, but are dell propreitary? Also where do you plug the yellow plug from the pump thats comes off the actual power plug?
