Here in Germany and some of Europe, the traffic lights change differently. Right before turning green, the yellow light comes on simultaneously with the red. My pretty sure guess as to why this is, is to prepare drivers to put the car into gear. Almost everyone here drives stick shift. I personally like the way the light changes. Pretty neat.

  • That's normal all over the Europe :P

  • @kameel05 I love it! I wish they did that here too. Better to prepare to go.

  • the meaning is that you know what comes next if you haven't seen what has been before, because if it's turning from red to green the red is still on while yellow is coming up so you see that green will be next. Other way around when turning from green to red you only have the single yellow light as intermediate. But for Germans it just means: HIT THE THROTTLE!!! ;)
