  • omg my cockatoo flew into a tree in my backyard. She was stuck up their for 2 days. I couldnt sleep those nights.

  • @sulkeluv3 I do clip Geronimo's wing feathers, but he cannot fly anyway. I can imagine how you must have felt with your bird in a tree for 2 days. I sometimes have to bribe Geronimo with a treat, especially if it is raining.

    Cheers from Linda

  • How do you get Geronimo to come down from the tree when it is time to go inside? And did you trim his wings trimmed to keep him from flying away?

  • Thanks MsDolittle! Geronimo lets me know when he wants to come out of the tree, as you can see in "Geronimo Screaming Come Here". At the end, he kind of melts hearts and that is why that video stays in his top three. If I need to get him out of a tree, I say "come here" or bribe him with a treat and that works. If it is raining, then he does not want to come out of the tree for anything for he loves the rain.

Yes, with the advice of his aviary vet, I clipped one wing.

    Blessings,

    Linda

  • Ah, ok, I was just curious because when my three get to the highest point they can climb too they usually won't come down for anything. :) If mine were allowed in trees, I have a feeling that they would climb to the top of a high tree and expect me to climb up there and join them before they ever decided to come down. :)

  • MsDolittle, climbing to the top of a tree to get your birds would make a great video. LOL Try giving a favorite treat. That should work great. Sunshine is such a really healthy necessity for birds. My aniary vet said that they need 10 hours of sunlight daily, but Geronimo stays in the shade of the tree too. He suggested a lizard lamp for extra light.

    Blessings from Linda & Geronimo

  • Your videos are great! Birds love to get out. We say, "Let's go for a ride" and our ekkie steps right up for a car ride. We took both our ekkies for a walk down to the beach - it is a couple of miles away. They hang onto bike handlebars and scooter handles too. Our green guy is clipped and our red head clips herself (: - they are rescues. We take them everywhere we can.

  • Thank you for your comment! I thought he was wanting me. Do you think he was wanting another bird buddy? If so, that is so sad. He does have anothere cockatoo friend that he visits. You can see them both in a tree in the macaw Betty video. Geronimo is almost 13 years old.

Greetings back to Germany from Linda in Tennessee!!

  • Hello Birdlady&Geronimo,

i have seen all your Geronimo videos Your Geronimo is loving you , I see. He is a wonderfull bird. This is your best video for me. What do you think he is looking for, or waiting of? In this video he don`t need to talk in other language so he does not. What`s his age?

    Many greetings from Germany
