you don't understand... There are thousands of different species of plecos... pleco is the common name for almost all fish in the Loricariidae family.
"Plecos" are broken down into different genus's, such as Hypostomus, Panaque, Peckoltia, Ancistrus, etc.
This Pleco is not a Hypostomus plecostomus, it is a Panaque, not Hypostomus, as to the species of Panaque, I am unsure.
Hypostomus do not eat wood, Panaque do... He mentions it eating wood and being a Panaque

Congratulation , i know a good place sin the amazonian region to dive , some very clean water in the low season ,
with many stingrays , electric fish poraque , piranhas ,cat fish and many small fish ( ornamental )
