Feeding timing for my Blood Parrots and Frontosa.
The 2 BPs were the same size when I bought them couple of years ago. One, presumably male, out grown the other during this period. They are quite big now.
The Frontosa is an unusual addition to the tank because both are of different origin. Frontosa originated from East Africa's Lake Tanganiyika and require water to be more alkaline.
Blood Parrots on the other are man-made. It is suspected they carry the gene of Convict and Red Devil, which are of South American origin. Generally thought to require water neutral in nature. However, BP are known to be very hardy fish and survive well in most water condition.
I decided to increase the pH of the water slight to achieve a compromise between the 2.
You will notice that BP has a physical defects in their mouth when they were created. Their mouth cannot be completely closed. However, when facing you, it appears they are smiling to you... hahaha.
how is the frontosa doing? i was thinking about putting a frontosa with my blood parrot... are they doin ok?

@jsoccer0007 ,
Hi, my frontons is doing great. Blood parrots are only moderately aggressive, so it is not a problem as long as the difference in size is not excessive. Frontosa can be more aggressive. However, the problem is Friontosa prefers harder water. You need to keep the ph 7 or more. 8 is better. It is also argued that these fishes are bled in farms, they probably get use to neutral at 7.
So I don't see any problem mixing them as long as tank is big enough.
