Bass Solo with MXR Envelope Filter

This is a video I recorded just to test some stuff for my new website. All three bass parts are first take improv and the drums are a loop I got out of an older version of Logic. Recorded from my 2001 American Deluxe P-Bass, with some really dead strings, into an MXR Bass Envelope Filter, and a Markbass Compressore. The chordal track is bass into MXR Phase 90 and the groove is just bass and compressor. Thanks for checking it out!

Fantastic tone and solo composition! I love the '95-'08 American Deluxe Ps with their P/DC pickup setup (I'm a J-Bass/Spector w/ Single Coils guy, but modded one of my Spectors with EMG P5 & DC5s to be my "Spector Precision"... and will be ordering custom Nordstrand pups - EMGs aren't my bag, I just had them sitting around to use as a test) and kill myself for the time I had to pass up on a *mint* 2000 Am Dlx 5-string in Trans Red with a Maple 'board... I had just moved and was cash-poor. :-(

@scarred2112 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed! I actually am about to put in an order for some Nordstrand pups for this bad boy. I'm gonna wire it passive with an NP4 in the neck and probably some custom housed Big Splits for the bridge. I am very excited to hear the results!

@MarcSterlingMusic That's exactly what my plan is, only housed in their EMG-sized shells & active with an Aguilar-OBP3. I've got Nordy custom-wound Big Singles & the Aguilar in my Spector Euro Bolt-On 4, 5 & 5 fretless and the tone is god-like! An NP5/DC5 will be my ultimate "pseudo P-Bass" for studio work & when that tone is called for.

@inthe7thhouse Thank you! I enjoyed recording the bass part to this a lot more than the other parts actually. I was definitely going for that P-Bass/P-funk tone!
