watching this cos the game cheated and decided not to let me finish my spaceship for no reason :-/

Have to admit, this is always the first victory I shoot for when starting a civ game. There is something satisfying about a technological victory.

@Shabasky1 No, actually, a game begins, but not that one. The game is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
Did anyone notice this:
In Civ III, we see the rocket with the colonists get launched into space.
In Civ IV, we see the rocket arrive and the colonists awake.
In Civ II, we see the colonists have built a city under a glasslike dome.
In Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, we get to play as those colonists!

Many years have gone by, and the first statis pod opens up. As the occupant steps out and briefly observes the unknown alien worlds, only one thought races through his mind:
