Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra plays "Baba Yaga" and "Great Gate of Kiev" from Mussorgsky/Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition. I was playing First trumpet and my Dad was operating the camera. Uploaded by request of 1st Trombonist, Matt.

  • I just noticed that your trumpets sound pretty nice when you get to the Great Gate of Kiev. Good job.

  • 2 of the trumpeters and at least one of the trombones is a student of the Sydney Conservatorium of music. There's a few other aspiring professional musicians scattered around, but for the most part the orchestra is made up of people just doing it as a fun hobby after work.

  • This is nice, but it isn't together in a lot of places. At the really fast runs, it kind of falls apart. It's a nice sound, though. Sorry if that's harsh, but I just got back from hearing this at the Naples Philharmonic. It was AWESOME.

  • Yeh well you get that with poorly paid and rehearsed amatuer musicians :P

I wasn't actually going to put this one up, but it was requested by a friend who was in the orchestra. Possibly as a something to laugh at.
