I will become faster and I will catch up with you again one day.

We were running together
like a stream of water
from a pipe with a broken valve ...
no one could shut us down.

We were in perfect stride
complementing each other
running the world;
marathon lovers.
~~~
But something happened,
we were tripped up by chance,
now dizzy; we can't take a solid stance;
our synchronicity has become
a clumsy dance.

But still we run ...
running aimlessly,
dreadfully running out of time.
I'm constantly running back to you
only to find
I'm a penny and you're a dime.

You run ten times faster than me.
~~~
Is this a contest?
because my heart is racing.

But racing who?
Now that our running is through
I realize for the rest of my life
I will forever be chasing ...

you.
