Can imagine being in my late teens to early twenties hanging out on beaches all up and down the West coast listening to this, surfing, hanging out with the babes in the summer nights by the light of the moon, drinking beer, getting laid, and enjoying this type of music before the Beach Boys, Beatles, and Bob Dylan changed everything( not that there was anything wrong with that!) To bad I wasn't even born yet when this was recorded and released!
BEST tribute I've yet seen on YouTube---and to a great group: "Diamonds" is the best off their "SURFING" album, tho "The Ninth Wave"is close. Never saw The Ventures stateside---but in JAPAN (early '70s while in the USMC) where they were *GODS*, they packed the stadiums and *rocked out*.
No way as good as Jet & Tony but it is interesting!

@stupullen It was called Diamonds on my Ventures Surfing LP (an original issue). The Heavies is a completely different song on the LP.

The early Ventures were the best. They were, and probably are the kings of instrumental rock, bar none. Added this to my favorites, it's a good one.

hate to mention it, but you misspelled the drummer's last name on your video.
