A drill to help players learn to maintain the right wrist angle and also get a flat left wrist. It won't make the course superintendent happy but it will make everyone a better player. Stop the flipping with this one. Mike hit over 1,000 balls a day for months to perfect this.

  • The driver is not as downward of a strike, so the wrist angles still remain constant, but the hips need to slide more to tilt the spine. This levels the strike. I'd practicing punching drivers with a follow through that is only chest high with the driver.

  • could you explain how your wrists hinge...cause what my instructor said they should move straight up and down from where you are addressing the ball, or like a judge hammers the gavel, and then when u couple that w a body turn, its on plane...however when i do this my WRIST isnt flat @ the top, its cupped...and ive been looking at pros, and it seems at least 90 percent have it flat @thetop...

  • @pawndominance1

I would explain that the wrists only move vertically as well. However, to hinge your left wrist 90 degrees at the top of the backswing the wrist most likely shouldn't be flat. The amount of dorsi flexion in the left wrist is determined by the position of your left hand grip.

  • I like this guy...would be nice if I could hear him.

  • good drill, do you remember Greg Norman's 'Secret'? Great swing aide to help with the flying wedge.

  • it's hard to maintain the flying wedge when the arms lose connection. I saw this vid two years almost and now I'm kicking myself for not doing the drill correctly.

  • Great drill Nick... thanks for sharing all your knowledge!

But I have a question... why at 1.30 for example, you can STOP the clubhead about two feet after the place where the ball was supposed to be, but when in front of the actual ball, you can only stop a lot farther...

What the hell is it? I´m really intrigued!

Is it the intention of impact? Why you can´t do the same thing?

I´m convinced once we can understand this, golf´s gonna be a lot easier... but I´m still looking for an answer.

  • This swing style has helped tremendously I had maintained a 10-12 hdcp but since April I've been working with this swing I have improved to a 6. My only question is even though I can maintain the right wrist flex well after impact my wrists tend to want to release and turn over I'm not sure if that is a carryover from my old style swing or is part of the stack and tilt method.

  • @nclearwater yeah, so then how do you get it flat at the top then...thats what im confused on cause i cant do it for the life of me (without compensations of me just concious making my wrists flat) but the pros defintely dont look like they are doing this. I spent like the whole day just on trying to get it flat at the top, got so frustrating haha...anything would be great nick, great vids btw

  • i have played for over 50 years and after trying this I am hitting the best irons of my life. how can you apply this to the driver or any teed up ball? thank you. you are the best
