That is an understandable observation. But, traditions are more than just traditions--they carry deep spiritual significance and meaning for people (including myself). And, at it's root, it is not spirituality or even religion that is creating the strife. It is the social constructions like heteronormativity and homophobia that create it. Giving up one's traditions does not make the homophobia vanish.
