@jslasher1 You are so incredibly lucky! She is such a brilliant woman - all I can do is pour over her books cover to cover.

Uta was a great actress. I saw her on Broadway in "Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolff?". A powerhouse performance.

This DVD is a must for any actors library, her books Respect for Acting and Challenge for the actor are both great even though she says she likes Challenge more because she felt she knew more of what she was doing. Its good to be able to see clips of her teach, Thank You....

A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR is a very fine book, loaded with insight as well as good old theatrical common sense. Currently reading Jared Brown's THE FABULOUS LUNTS, a dual biography of Alfred Lunt & Lynn Fontanne. They hired Uta Hagen when she was 18 to play Nina in their production of Chekhov's THE SEAGULL. Fascinating reading!
This is one teacher who could ACT!! Who could back up everything she taught. Amazing talent.

I eat up everything this woman says. I just ordered her "Challenge for the Actor" book on eBay -- I can't wait to read it!
