Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I've decided to post now a 24-minute animated cartoon that, to me, has become an annual viewing tradition. Stan & Jan Berenstain's lovable Bear Family come to your home. On the video I got this from it is titled "The Berenstain Bears' Thanksgiving Video," but its real title is "The Berenstain Bears Meet Bigpaw," originally aired on NBC in 1980.

"If the Bears become selfish and greedy and unkind to the needy, and insufficiently grateful for nature's great bounty, then Bigpaw will come and gobble up Bear country, county by county," says the legend. Papa Bear forgets what Thanksgiving is all about, and as rumors of Bigpaw's awesome power spread, Bear country prepares to do battle with this "monster of monsters," but he's not what they expected... and it's going to take two small cubs to prove it!

  • It looks like it's from the 70s! I don't remember this epiosde when I was young! And, The Messy Room was the first episode! Maybe it was animated by another guy!

  • @SuperBookWorm23 It wasn't part of the series at all. This was first broadcast on NBC in 1980, 5 or 6 years before the CBS series.

  • Omg, I used to watch this so much when I was a kid!

  • lol this is better than the crap one we have

  • This series has really changed over the years. It started out with mystical and supernatural elements, then to creature featues and many non-bears that could talk. Then the series became ultra realistic, closer to the books, and more PC and kid friendly. Now only bears can talk, the age gap between the cubs is more relivant, and they face realistic problems, no more Bigpaw and Raffish Ralph.

  • i was looking every where for this!

  • is this the original old????thanx and bravo!!!!!!!

  • Oh god, Youtube can read minds! I was just thinking about this the other day and now it shows up in my DO you want to watch this list LOL

Use to watch this all the time when I was a kids.

  • The animation in this special is even better than the 1985 CBS series!

  • I remembered watching this in Elementry School, I don't know what we were thinkin much at that time, well at least it's not Big Paw from the Pound Puppies.
