Under tornado warning, if you can't tell by the sirens which went off for over an hour...took this around 12:30pm on October 26, 2010 in Murfreesboro, TN at MTSU...the cloud disappears behind the stadium, but this was what I believe to be the funnel cloud of the storm, also photographed a few miles from here and put on the news.

They will be testing the new system sometime next week, they haven't said a specific day though.

  • @StormChaseTN

That is the only new one installed that is known of by the RuCo EMS and I'm still trying to get ahold of the MTSU's enviromental safety guy or whatever his title is.

  • @Bororeed Most likely it either hasn't been connected to a power source yet or just hasn't been programmed. I haven't seen the new ones there yet so I wouldn't know for sure.

  • @soccerdude7330 Thanks!

  • @timeslip325 It's a Whelen 2910. I saw the thing in person earlier this year..man it was huge.

  • MTSU recently installed a new siren at their Miller Coliseum on the north side of town, which did not sound during this warning.

  • @timeslip325 290-something, can't remember how many cells at the moment. I think it's either a 5 or 6 cell.

  • Whelen vortex?
