great find bro, I know how you felt, I just found my best, a 1942 walking liberty half dollar( the coin u founds lil sister), great feeling. Im still looking for my first silver dollar, keep on keepin on man.. I grew up around New Orleans, st.Bernard parish. Would love to still live around all those old houses again.

Okay..I'm hooked on yourlinks.. I just started MDing and I love it.. not found anything yet but trash.. but actually did find an old dime yesterday (no, not "that" kind of old).. but it was in the woods.. and I was thrilled.. can't even imagine what I will do when I find something like your silver dollar!! Def. the Happy Dance will happen!!

Really nice find HH, I have a 1926 peace dollar that was given to me by my Grandmother -I just can see the excitement that over came you. I had to retrieve mine and compare it. That's one big coin! I just can't Imagine losing one! Good work!

thanks Rocknranch, That is really a big coin and it is funny that no one saw it on the ground before it sank or was pushed down, you really never know what you can find with a metal detector.. HH

LaDigger, congrats on the big silver! I was detecting a camping area last year and dug a 1924 peace dollar, along with 5 mercs and a 1944 half, all within 2 feet of each other. Makes ya wonder how they all got there. Keep up the good hunts!
