He was playing in the street because he is cool! No, actually there was a beach clean-up in the morning, and the reward for all the volunteers was a free solo JB show on the boardwalk steps of Ocean Beach.

@ncadencem Our radio stations are odd.. Being Australian, it sometimes plays alot of Australian stuff.. I see the idea of mainstream music is simply songs that have a high recognition status due to radio play and big promotions. I suppose it also does define the type of music and the generally conventional layout, which John Butler isn't :)

i guess its just a matter of opinion, i just don't really see him as mainstream- but hey- like i said, opinions ;]

Ok, he was playing, singing, making the percussion, in the cold and he probably was catching a cold, the guitar was falling and he could manage to catch it and keep playing, he gives multitasking another meaning.
