Oberje (formerly of the demo group The Fingerbobs), programmer of the canned ST conversion of Jaguar XJ220 has built a playable version of the code he was working on at the time. The game features no sound (I added the music in the mix) and the track editor is missing. Truly superb to see this in action after spending so long on the cutting room floor. Great work by the Guardians Of The Past and Oberje!

  • I'm sure I saw an advertisement of this game in one of the ST Action issues. Hmm...

  • I remember seeing ads boasting an Atari ST version too. In Zero magazine, I think. Shocking to think how many games were canceled even when the marketing was in full swing. What a waste of money!

  • Lucky this game wasn't released. It looks awful compared to lotus turbo challenge, which went onto become top speed on the SNES. Although this looks simular to lotus turbo challenge the game play looks very poor and even worse than WEC LEMANS or CHASE HQ which came out much earlier.

  • this reminds me of top gear for the SNES.

  • @bazfanv2

Yeah i was a bit unfair.Although the ST wasn't in the same league, i certainly wouldn't swap out my glorious memories of it.Oids, Starglider and Super Sprint provided an incredibly fun time for me especially and i'm not sure why i said such a negative comment.Reflective of my mood perhaps when i wrote that

ST isn't awesome in comparison maybe but it sure was back then if you owned one.It didn't stop me wanting an Amiga of course, but then i was lucky to have that bought for me

  • @Adropacrich2 I would'nt use the words stuck with. I would use Privelaged to own at the time. Sounds much more respectful.

  • Im a big Atari fan, but just by looking at the game (and im no graphics tart) you can see why it was scratched.

  • Yeah doesn't seem to make much sense with all the money even shareware was making at the time. Nice to see what this would have looked like on the ST though, thanks for the upload!

  • Yeah much worse for all those custom chips that made everything so much more smooth and better looking. And better sounding of course

I loved my ST and i have some glorious memories of it but it was pretty bad in comparison to what Amiga could do

Ah so what though, both machines had good games and i guess it was a case of enjoying what you were stuck with at the time

  • looks like an amiga game.. I stil regret that purchase... so expensive... so crappy.
