Phil Anselmo tells people off for fighting Brixton 2008

Phil stopped the song 'On March the Saints' to stop someone starting a fight with someone else. I missed recording the first bit of it, but he dealt with the guy, saying there would be no hostilities at his show, and that anger is just a moment that passes. Then carried on the song.

He and Rita got in Dimebag's ear, and ultimately it was Vinnie Paul's decision to disband Pantera. You could tell in interviews that Vinnie and Phil weren't that close to begin with, while Phil and Dime were. Vinnie was always the more uptight one of the lot, didn't get any tattoos, usually took shit more seriously, and both he and Dime were given everything from day 1 while Phil had to work for it. I like them all, but Phil was always more open to a Pantera reunion than Vinnie was.

@Grimeyhoob As far as Pantera breaking up, I agree for the most part. Dime's murder? Phil had no part in that and had no way of knowing that the stupid comments he made would be released weeks before the tragedy. That's just poor judgment and bad timing on Phil's part.

I agree that Down is a hell of a lot better than Hell Yeah.I love phils music. but I still think he was the major catalyst for pantera's demise.Phil started doing drugs and that messed all his relations up, with Vinnie and Dime, plus his wife at the time,who divorced him. he admits now that he didnt even know half the stuff he was saying back then, because he was so depressed and drugged up. His racist remarks, hes not really racist, he just couldnt articulate. Phils better now

@Spunkalish and Phil was the one who left Pantera for his back surgery and told the rest that he needed a year off to recover. then suddenly he started playing with down and superjoint ritual, while he claimed he was recovering. that annoyed Vinnie and dimebag because they felt they were being lied to. Plus Phil was drugged off his head and made stupid racist comments at gigs, which vinnie and dime were both highly against. phil apologised for the shit afterwards, but unfortunately too late

@Spunkalish Dude, did you know Pantera personally? I dont think so. Dont judge people on the basis of interviews.You never met them and you did not interact with them on a daily basis either. Its best to keep quiet on things you don't know, instead of making bold assertions on the basis of a few 2 minute interviews you have seen on youtube. Ive met Vinnie and Dimebag, both were really nice and awesome guys. Phil was the one who got drugged, made stupid racist comments and fought with dime.period
