Right because the political game doesn't get rigged by the process that selects the choices the voters are presented with. Also excuse me while I go split a fatted calf at the alter of majoritarianism.

I like your idea of having everyone represent themselves but a downside to this and other forms of democracy is that it allows mob rule to arise . So if the majority of a population wants to do something, then what's to stop them? But if everyone was well-educated, informed about stuff, and able to make rational decisions then I think it would make an excellent kind of government
-just my two cents =)

It would be nice to have the chance to choose a ruler or not to.
I think that the most proper way for people who don't want to live under a government is to find a new place, seems hard to live in the same area with people who are living under a government, the government will want to exploit all people and the citizens will also want that so they can have their things a bit more cheap if the government are providing them. Sounds pretty bad.

One reason I agree with the extreme of an individual representing themself, through means of self or proxy.
-
...yeah, but representation will always become a a forum for factions and cabals to use disingenuous techniques to make those that they 'represent' think that self-centered and destructive policies are their own ideas

It all makes sense now, how could I have been so wrong!
Read Colossus by Niall Ferguson. You don't hate states you hate empires.

Good video.
I think the question maybe comes down to. If your just reprisenting you are you really for society or living in a group? or are you really like a hermit living seperatly from society?
If not, It sounds maybe like you are looking for direct domcracy?

Personally I don't think we need government. Income taxes are not needed. Nor is the FED. Let's use gold and silver for trading. If we all carry guns we can protect ourselves, don't forget that pit bull when you go for a walk.
I have found that self government works, I have seen it in action when a community stands together against wrong doers, those wrong doers are not welcome and they come to find that out and they leave.

I am suprised by some of the comments you have received, Luke. It seems to me that this is a simple re-framing of your anarchistic principle, but a few comments show a new acceptance of "extreme representational government" that might not have been so quickly earned by the word "anarchy". Interesting.

On second thought, there's no need for me to be so rude, and I'm sorry for calling you pathetic. Just watch this video:

"The slaves will do what they want"
Yeah, they will create new slaves. It's human nature just accept it.

And human nature has been to wage endless war. Should we accept that too? If people decided to come kill you and your family would you just accept it because it has happened in the past. You are self-defeating. If you want to accept the worst parts of humanity than I have nothing else to say to you. Just remember, we ended slavery, by reminding people like you how pathetic you are.

It doesn't matter how many representatives there are, there can only be one consensus, one decision; it is impossible for everyone to get their way.
No matter how decentralized a society is, there are concerns that require cooperation of the group. Humans are not just desparate individuals; we are necessarily a collective as well.

It's true, we are social creatures, but these social groups still form out of the preferences of individuals. So there is no reason to STOP respecting individuals, which is all I was really making a case for in this video.
