  • The problem is, we cannot give a Biblical Tithe.

The Biblical Tithe was crops and herds grown and/or raised by Jews in Israel, and given to the Levites.

The Tithe was never money. It was never acceptable for non-Jews to Tithe. Jews living outside Israel did not Tithe. Jews inside Israel who did not grow or raise food did not Tithe (because they had nothing to Tithe).

God has given us a NEW Covenant. Anyone adhering to the OLD denies Christ's life, death, and resurrection (Galatians 5:4).

  • FANTASTIC!

I can remember being taught tithing my entire life. I'm 35 now, and it wasn't until last year that I discovered, in scripture, the truth about Christian tithing. It is a tradition that early Christians did not participate in, a tradition of men. We are to be cheerful givers, not bound givers. Let grace abound.

And, pigpink1971, I feel that the guiltiness he is referring to is shame based guilt, not conviction of the HS. One is from the pit of hell, and the other is from heaven.

The problem is that you are trying to obey the Old Covenant.

    Here's why Tithing is sin.

If you Tithe according to law, then you disregard Jesus, who is the end of the law (Romans 10:4). If you Tithe according to principle, then you call Jesus a liar, who said the Tithe is part of the law (Matthew 23:23).

  • I've always found it interesting that God required 10% when Joseph collected 20% from the people of Egypt during the famine that reunited him with his family.

Just as you say, we ought to give much more than a tithe if we want to see folks saved from the fire of hell.

  • Lol "After I got out of Bible school I had time to read my Bible...LOL

  • @JimmyCarol100

    AMEN!!

  • People just don't seem to understand that tithing in the OT was the Levite's inheritance, since they were given no land. And a tenth of the tenth(tithe) to be used for the Temple offerings to the LORD=Num 18:26. New Testament is that we are to help the poor & fatherless and also visit or help take care of any hungry, thirsty, no raiment, sick or in prison=Mat 25:36>. Jesus said that to those who don't do these things, He will tell to depart from Him into everlasting fire. Peace2All

  • Does the bible give any consideration to engel's law for tithing?

  • If we really had to sow money to receive God’s blessings, it wouldn’t be called “grace” anymore because it is in the fact that it took everything we deserved (punishment for sin) and placed it on Jesus and that it FREELY gave us everything which we didn’t deserve, namely forgiveness, finances, salvation, healing, etc. So teaching people that they need to tithe first in order for God to bless them, is essentially throwing God’s free gift back into His face and opting to buy it from Him instead.

  • Oh yeah, and by the way, I am testing the scriptures myself. And I believe every word that it says.

  • To inka365,we are not talking about the same thing. Michael Pearl is saying that tithing is a sin. If we tithe, then we are sinning. I'm say what the wordd of God is saying. God says " if we do not tithe, then we are robbing God. All God is asking is to do is give back just ten percent of what he gives us. That's all he's asking. You can not love God and maman. Either you love God and hate maman. Or you love maman and hate God. You can not love both.

  • maybe yall should test the scripture yourselfs searching to undeerstand instead of mindlessly following someone elses experience or choosing to be ignorant, both are the same.
