  • Do you know the name of the guitarist playing at the jazz festival at the end of the video?

  • @shunyotube Sadly I don't remember who it was : but he was very good, as also was the resident jazz pianist, who had played the previous evening until after midnight - not such a good idea when some of us had gone to bed!

  • I hear that His Popefulness has issued orders to clean up Rome. He has his Swiss Guard accosting holidaymakers, telling shirtless men to wear a shirt, and even telling women in sleeveless dresses to cover their arms up! The man is an idiot.

  • @RobNorthampton The irony of this 'Clean up' must be obvious to all. I often watch the Chris Hitchens speech on the Catholic Church to recall all the vastly more dirty filth which seems to need cleaning up rather more urgently!

  • Are you are so funny Michael. Hope the wine was cheaper than the hotel in Urbino! When are you off back to bella italia? Gillian xxxxx

  • @TheBlanchet1 Thanks. See my message on your channel inbox.

  • I hope the pope is apprehended and taken in for questioning when he arrives.

Straight off the plane and into the back of a police van in handcuffs and a blanket over his head.

BBC NEWS: "A man has been arrested at Heathrow airport on suspicion of aiding a global pedophile ring. The man, who can't be named for legal reasons, is believed to be the leader of the organisation, which is thought to be the largest of its kind in the world."

  • Catholic Church should allow female priests in their ranks. If they are anything like the male priests recruiting altar boys would be a breeze.

  • How ironic. After hundreds of years of being beaten about the head with evolution, the Pope finally acknowledges it, and then after spinning it suitably, parades it about as a great explanation for the mechanism of divine creation. Well done indeed.

Meanwhile, onlookers stand by poleaxed by the notion that the Catholic Church has just managed to climb up out of the 18th Century on this one issue, whist completely ignoring the pressing contemporary ethical, even criminal issues of the church.

  • You former Catholics crack me up. You're one of many I know who still take an active part in the church, but if campanology rings your bell, who am I to throw cold water on it.

As for the papal visit, I'm sure many have mentioned a song by Tim Minchin "The Pope Song", can be found on Youtube but you might want to lower the volume. If you haven't already come across any of his work, he's a musical comedian with a penchant for bashing religion.

  • @tenneral Exactly. Rather a transparent Catholic diversionary tactic, methinks.

    :-)

  • I attended catholic school from 1st to 8th grade and I was an altar boy for the last 4 of those years. I could barely stay awake during mass when I believed in God, so I can't imagine myself even crossing the threshold into a cathedral these days. How do you do it? Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your videos and, as always, I look forward to your next one.
