Nice job!!! I also will be new to this. I just mailed off my deposit for a standard Indy bullwhip from Joe (8ft natural tan 16plait) and can't wait. It seemed it became more fluid and natural as you kept on cracking it and sounded like a pistol shot each time it cracked...for being new to the art you rocked it bro...

i know why your not geting the cattleman's crack right . when you throw the whip down to make that loop, your throwing it to foward, you want to throw the whip more down to your feet than your front. this will make the crack a lot louder.

I'm Joe Strain's cousin, Kevin, and I've had a few years of experience with that particular whip of his and it's best just to focus on getting your cracks with minimal arm motion and focus on using your wrist; plenty of frequent use (as I'm sure it's received by now) and the occasional leather dressing session don't hurt either.

By comparing your bullwhip clips, I can see differences. Using the handle like a lever, just before the stockwhip cracks, try pressing the handle down and forward. Using two fingers on the shaft would help. You appear to lever the bullwhip down and forward, but not the stockwhip.
