Arguably Pavement's greatest triumph, and one of the greatest indie rock albums of the 90s.

01) Silence Kit
02) Elevate Me Later

  • Why would he be talking about a silent 'kit'?? It's silent kid listen to your grandmothers advice!! ^^

  • I believe 'Silent Kit' is a misspelling from when they were writing it out or something. It's not unheard of -- the Cream song "Badge" is called that because Clapton (IIRC) mistook it for "Bridge" on the sheet music. But anyway, the song's Silence Kit and I'll spank anyone who disagrees with a barb-wire mallet.

  • what about disc 2??

  • You mean the extras disc and stuff? I was going to put that up at some point but I think someone else already did...

  • I miss listening to pavement for the first time

  • Honestly FUCKING AMAZING.... listen to this over and over and over for days.. just so good.

  • Best band of the last 20 years.

  • I just want to listen all the Pavement I can, so I can only hear "...because there's 40 different shades of black..." while walking down the street.

  • silent kit makes my heart melt. these guys were creative geniuses.

  • its true, i have the 2 disc re issue and it does say silent kit

  • Stock-stoned!!!!! I love this!!!!!!!!! Thank god I was able to see them multiple times! They were fantastic live! I hope remember their roots before their NYC show next Sept. (2010)

  • I can't get this album anywhere, and I don't think I ever will... Malkmus is totally underrated in Argentina.

  • Due to an ink splodge on the back of the original artwork, the song "Silence Kid" has become erroneously known as "Silence Kit". This misnomer persisted when designer Mark Ohe printed it onto the back of the re-issue Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain: LA's Desert Origins, despite the interior artwork showing the correct name in print several times, including written in Stephen Malkmus's own handwriting.

  • none of stephen malkmus's songs make sense, so their is the proof he can spell!! if you disagree, i'll shoot you in the face
