  • A tragedy, but let's not kid ourselves about democracy.

Our OSS fights alongside Ho Chi Minh when Japan's the common enemy. When WWII is over, the French, without a pot to piss in, demand Vietnam back!

So Ho Chi Minh and his Viet Minh evict the French (the Defense Dept. should've taken notes.)

Now the U.S. installs a puppet, Ngo Dinh Diem: a monster whose brother is head of the secret police. When Diem outlives his usefulness, the CIA has him assassinated.

    Diem, Noriega, Saddam Hussein...

  • @NigelTufnelIII I COULD NOT AGREE MORE, beautifully put short and to the point, their bravery ,on both sides is still worthy of comment

  • 3 "Sappers" didn't like Col Hal Moore.

  • @SuperThunderlips indeed but thats what Hal Moore and his men fought for, democracy thats what makes us strong, haters gonna hate :)

  • @NigelTufnelIII So what........they fought for America........so eat it......asshole.

  • LT col. hal moore what can be said hell i was not born when he severed but i what storyies have been told all about a great leader with great men beside him i guess he inspires greatness more then willing to bet he would tell you his men inspired him to be great 1st cav 7th cavalry 1965 you are my heros

  • I would have followed this man to victory...

  • If we would have fought this war like we fought WWII we would have destroyed the Viet Cong..... Politics killed our soldiers..... Thank a vet!

  • With all deference to Col. Moore, the American GI was no match for the Viet Cong/NVA. Like CPT Willard says in Apocalypse Now, there was no R&R for Charlie, there was only victory or death.

  • LTG Moore is a great American hero along with his troops. Having spent most of my years in the Army I would have been proud to have served under his command. No words or medals could ever express my appreciation for these men.

  • I love the way he referred to all American soldiers as "The Fighting Man"... As ONE. That meant a lot to me. As a nation, we are one.
