Amazon announced three new Kindle E-Readers this week, including the Kindle Fire Android tablet and Kindle Touch. The third offering is a bare bones reader simply called Kindle. Unlike previous Kinde E-Readers, this new Kindle includes no keyboard, no speakers, and no headphone jack. It's 18% smaller, weighs under 6 ounces, and fits nicely in hand for easy reading. Like the previous 3 generations of Kindle, this new one uses E Ink for a crisp reading experience. WiFi connectivity allows you to download ebooks quickly. At the $79 price point, the new Kindle makes a great starting point for getting into ebooks.

  • They do have the wall power adapter, but you have to buy it separate. When you buy a wall adapter, it has a built in usb port, so you could plug in your usb adapter into the wall adapter, and you shall charge your Kindle. The power adapter can cost up to around $20, but you buy it on amazon.com for around $10.

  • @killer92173 My point was the wall adapter should have come in the box. It was included in all previous versions of the Kindle.

  • Great video! One question: do the ads appear when you are reading?

  • @frederico179 Amazon has indicated it will only show advertising on the Home screen and on the screen while the device is powered down.

  • Is that a glare I see on your Kindle? Thought they were glare-free.

  • Doesn't everyone have a generic USB charger?

  • @jakeludington Wasn't included with my previous edition of kindle (the one with keyboard). Besides it's just another piece of plastic that I'm going to loose. Come on - you have computer at home, computer at work and probably quite a few universal USB chargers and that's more than enough with kindle's battery life.

  • The battery lasts a month on a single charge, and there's a usb because they are universal, in other words, japanese power plugs are differebt than ours, so are some other countries.

  • Hi! I would like to ask if the device comes already with dictionary? If not, is possible to install?

  • what if i'm blind and cant read? i'm gonna need a headphone jack for audio books!

  • I like it

  • @danjulification Wha-?

  • can you print the ebooks?
