My Hunger Games the movie Dream Cast

Jake Abel as Cato
It took me awhile to come up with this (not nearly as long as peeta), but it all comes from the acting i've seen him do recently on Supernatural as Adam. This guy has so much potential and he could play Cato very well, even if isn't humongous like Cato is described in the book. If you haven't seen him act on Supernatural... do it now.

Jennette McCurdy as Clove
Not positive about this one, but I think Jennette is a very talented young actress, I think she pull of the 'girl driven mad by the hunger games' character. And it would be a breakaway role for her.

Dianna Agron as Glimmer
Not much to explain. As I was reading the book I remember thinking of her.

Rubina Ali as Rue
Saw someone else mention her as Rue and I thought that it fit her perfectly

Sophia Bush as Portia
Cannot explain lol, I love her.

Jonathan Groff as Cinna
I've seen a lot of people casting Hugh Dancy as Cinna, and while I adore Hugh I feel like Jonathan would play Cinna better. He's got that clean cut boy next door look, and he's a fantastic actor.

Kristin Chenoweth as Effie
Another one that I pictured as I was reading the book. What's not to love about Kristin, she is perfection. And the character of Effie reminding me a bit of Galinda so I had to cast her.

Robert Downey Jr as Haymitch
Need I say more, if you can't see this working.....

Steven R. McQueen as Gale
Pictured while reading couldn't help casting him

Gerard Butler as Mr. Everdeen
I cast him partly because I can totally see him as a miner lol, and because such a big deal was made about her dad's singing, and I love Gerard Butler's singing voice.

Uma Thurman as Mrs. Everdeen
I was stuck on this one, but then I remembered her playing Fantine in Les mis and I was sold once I recalled her performance in that movie. Although it has so little in common with her part Hunger Games, it made me picture her as Katniss' mother.

Elle Fanning as Prim
I can't deny that talent runs in the fanning family, and just looking at Elle I thought 'this girl is Prim without a doubt'

Sterling Knight as Peeta
Peeta was actually the last person I cast, and I almost didn't pick him. But he is a very talented actor, and i can totally picture him as the Bakers son stuck on a girl who doesn't notice him. he may not look like I pictured Peeta, but makeup can easily fix that, however I firmly believe that he can play Peeta. And I can't think of anyone else that can.

Sarah Hyland as katniss
My ideal Katniss. The first time I saw Sarah, on an episode of SVU I got chills from her performance, I knew that she could be the best young actor under 25 if given the right role, and this is the perfect one. Some might say that she doesn't look like Katniss should, but again makeup and stylists people.

I couldn't think of anyone for Thresh or Foxface as hard as I tried, but i am leaning toward Neil Patrick Harris for Ceasar (and not just because he's my third favorite actor lol)

@MagicalSweets i can take or leave dianna, but jon and kristen are a must for me, btw you know camilla belle was a disney kid, and they never specified rue as being black just dark skinned so to me she could also be indian.

I really like your cast! Jon Groff as Cinna is surprisingly perfect, and I'm not that big a fan of his. Sterling Knight seems a bit young to me but his smile is exactly what I imagined Peeta's to look like, so... and I'm a huge Jennette fan so I'm totally for that!
